Kharghar locals upset over beggar menace

Kharghar locals upset over beggar menace
NAVI MUMBAI: Residents have been complaining of urchins and vagabonds who make a beeline at the entry point of Kharghar. While children are seen begging at signals, their parents sell garbage bags and the likes. Many also end up quarrelling and fighting with each other, creating chaos. “Urchins and beggars have been urinating and defecating in the area,” said Suraj Das, a resident of Sector 7.
“Safety is a concern, especially during peak hours as we have to drive down this busy road.

Urchins and vegabonds cross the road even when vehicles are moving in full speed. They even stand in the middle of the road to sell things. This is calling for a disaster as an accident can occur at any time. It is also risky for motorists,” said Dr. Nilesh Kadu, a resident of Sector 4.
